About Us

New Vision Aviation, Inc. (NVA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing residents and youth from disadvantaged communities in the San Joaquin Valley with the opportunity to experience flight and begin training for careers in aviation.  Founded in March 2018, New Vision Aviation’s tag line is “Elevating People Through Aviation”.   NVA is still in the start-up phase but has been working hard toward getting operational and is already helping young people from Southwest Fresno to start experiencing aviation.  NVA has partnered with Big Picture High School in Fresno and has two 16-year-old juniors from that school in a no-cost ground school that is meeting for three hours on Monday evenings at Fresno Chandler Executive Airport (KFCH).  NVA Board Member Bill Campbell (pictured below) and President Joseph Oldham gave the two young men their first flight experiences on January 26, 2019.

NVA is an all-volunteer organization and believes that investing in “human capital” is the best ROI possible for our communities and our world!!  That is why we exist and why our team is investing our time, money, and resources into helping open doors for young people that otherwise would not be possible on their own.

You Can Join Us In This Work!

NVA is in the process of leasing a 2013 Pipistrel Alpha Trainer aircraft so that the students we are getting interested in aviation from our communities can have modern training aircraft to fly.  The Alpha Trainer will be joined next by four 2017 Pipistrel Alpha Electros that are part of the Sustainable Aviation Project and a 1946 Luscombe 8A to provide tailwheel training ( I know it is not “modern”, but it is such a cool airplane to fly).  NVA is facing some significant start-up costs for insurance, hangar space, and supplies as these aircraft come into the program (see budget breakdown below).  We are also hoping to get some donations to help our students from the disadvantaged neighborhoods cover aircraft rental costs.  We have at least one Certified Flight Instructor ready to donate his time for these students, but the aircraft costs are still going to be an obstacle for these young people.
